1. Funnels. Funnels refer to funnel analysis, a method used to analyze and understand the steps or stages that users go through in a specific process, such as a sales funnel or a conversion funnel. It involves tracking and analyzing user behavior and interactions at each funnel stage.

In the context of subscription apps, the funnel typically includes stages such as app installs, free trial activation, subscription purchase, and renewal.

By analyzing the conversion rates at each stage, businesses can gain insights into user behavior and identify areas of improvement to increase subscription conversion and reduce churn.

*Each funnel widget occupies 8 grids on the dashboard.

2. Name of the widget, up to 60 characters.

3. Metrics, dimensions, or events employed in this widget.

4. Edit the widget.

5. Delete the widget.

6. Create a new widget.

7. Cohorts. Cohorts refer to cohort analysis, a statistical technique used to analyze and understand the behavior of a specific group of individuals (cohort) over a period of time.

It involves grouping individuals based on a shared characteristic or experience and then tracking their actions, outcomes, or performance to identify patterns and trends.

In the context of subscription apps, cohort analysis refers to the examination and comparison of groups of subscribers based on their sign-up dates or other common characteristics.

It helps app developers and businesses understand how different cohorts of subscribers behave over time and how their engagement, retention, and revenue metrics evolve.

8. Custom data slices. Custom data slices refer to data widgets that are created and defined based on specific needs and criteria.

These slices enable more detailed and personalized analysis and visualization of data. By selecting specific metrics and dimensions, you can create custom data slices to focus on specific subsets of data.

This customization allows you to tailor your analysis and reporting to extract insights and address specific questions that are most relevant to your app business or analytical requirements.

1. Name of the funnel.

2. Events that are applied in the funnel, up to 8 events.

3. Available events, all events that can be applied to the funnel.

Please note that while events labeled as "deleted" can still be used in the funnel, the counting of such events will cease once new users install the app or existing users download a new version.

4. Preview of the designed funnel, viewable when there are two events selected.

5. Save funnel, click to save the designed funnel.

How to create a funnel widget?

A personalized funnel allows you to analyze the user journey, identify bottlenecks, and make data-driven decisions to enhance subscription rates.

Here are the steps on how you can create a customized funnel widget at appflow.ai:

Step 1. Sign in to Appflow.ai.

Step 2. Create a new blank funnel. There are two methods available:

  • Method 1: Go to the Configurator, find "Funnels", click "Create Funnel", and you will be taken to the funnel editor.

  • Method 2: Click "Create custom widget" on the right panel on the dashboard editor. In the pop-up window, select "Funnel" and go to the funnel editor.

Step 3. Name the funnel. Give the funnel a relevant and concise name (up to 60 characters) that aligns with its function.

For example, if the funnel is meant for tracking subscription conversion events, you can name it "Subscription Conversion".

It's also recommended to add the creator's name and creation date for easy recognition.

Step 4. Design the funnel. Choose events from the "Available events" section and drag them to the designated column labeled "drop the events here". You can preview the funnel once you have selected at least two events.

Note: The available events consist of both the events tracked automatically by Appflow.ai and any custom events that you send to the platform.

Step 5. Check the visualized funnel. The preview of the funnel on the right side displays the number of subscribers for each event and the conversion rate between consecutive events. You can readjust the event order or change the displayed events on the funnel.

Step 6. Save funnel. When the funnel is good to go, click “Save Funnel” on the bottom left. The created funnel widget can be found in the Configurator under “Funnels” and on the dashboard editor under "Your custom widgets", where you can add it to your dashboard.

Creating a customized funnel for subscription apps is essential for understanding user behavior and optimizing conversion rates. By following these steps, you can design a funnel tailored to your specific goals and gain valuable insights into user engagement within your app.

How to create a cohort widget?

Cohort analysis is a valuable technique for analyzing and comprehending user behavior. It enables the tracking and comparison of behavior and performance among various cohorts over a specified period.

Here is the guide on how to create a cohort at appflow.ai:

Step 1. Sign in to Appflow.ai.

Step 2. Create a new blank cohort. There are two methods available:

  • Method 1: Go to the Configurator, find "Cohorts", click "Create Cohort", and you will be taken to the cohort editor.

  • Method 2: On the dashboard editor, click "Create custom widget" on the right panel. In the pop-up window, select "Cohort" and go to the cohort editor.

Step 3. Name the cohort. Give the cohort a relevant and concise name (up to 60 characters) that aligns with its function. You may want to add the creator's name and creation date for easy recognition.

Step 4. Visualize the cohort. Fill in the field displayed on the page by selecting the metrics you wish to compare, specifying the cohort dimension, determining the values (revenue or subscribers) to be shown, and selecting the time dimension(day, week, month or year).

Please keep in mind that certain options may vary depending on the use case, as illogical ones have been excluded (and this is not a bug).

For example, if you want to compare subscription revenue generated in different countries by month, choose “Subscriptions” in the metric selector, specify “Countries” as the data dimension, choose “Revenue” in the value column, and set the time dimension as “month”.

By doing so, you will get access to the preview of the customized cohort under the selector.

Step 5. Save cohort. When the cohort is ready to go, click “Save Cohort” on the bottom left. The created cohort widget can be found in the Configurator under “Cohorts” and on the dashboard editor under "Your custom widgets", where you can add it to your dashboard.

By following the above steps, you can successfully create a cohort widget and leverage the power of cohort analysis to drive growth and improve user engagement.

And remember, it's not just about collecting data – it's about transforming it into actionable insights that can guide the growth and success of your subscription app.
